BIP Workshops and Volunteers Study Visits

Over the past several days, our volunteers have been fully engaged in a dynamic series of workshops designed to foster skill development and community engagement. All activities were part of the BIP program organized at the WSB Academy. Each day brought new experiences, allowing participants to actively engage and collaborate. The sessions covered a wide range of topics — from digital tools to collaborative project management — ensuring a well-rounded learning experience for everyone involved. Beyond the classroom setting, the group took their learning into the field, visiting various local sites to observe community coordination in practice. These visits served as an important bridge between theory and practice, allowing volunteers to engage with different organizational models and working environments.

The variety of the workshops really kept us on our toes. Visiting different sites gave us a much clearer picture of how these projects impact the local community on a daily basis. It wasn’t just about listening — we were able to see the results firsthand – Mostafa

One part of the program also included a visit to Katowice, where regional history was combined with modern corporate innovation. The journey began at the Silesian Museum, where the group explored unique underground galleries located on the site of a former coal mine. This visit provided a deeper understanding of the region’s industrial identity and demonstrated how art and history can breathe new life into urban spaces.

The contrast of the day was very inspiring. Seeing how Katowice preserves its past at the museum while simultaneously developing the future of technology at Capgemini gave us a great perspective. It is a perfect example of how tradition and innovation can coexist and create new opportunities for our professional growth – Gisselle

The final event of the week-long BIP program was a trip to Krakow. Our volunteers took part in a focused study visit, exploring one of the most historically significant cities in the region. The day was spent discovering the city’s key landmarks and uncovering the layers of history that shape its unique character. From the architectural heritage of the Old Town to modern cultural centers, the volunteers gained a deeper understanding of the local context and the importance of heritage preservation in urban development. The trip also provided an excellent opportunity for the group to bond outside their usual working environment while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the city.
