Volunteers’ Visit to Kraków
Volunteers Gisselle and Eray, together with the project coordinator Ola and coach Maja, visited Kraków to gain a deeper understanding of Poland’s history, culture, and heritage. During the trip, they had the opportunity to see some of the city’s most important landmarks, including Wawel Royal Castle, St. Mary’s Basilica, the Main Market Square, and the Vistula Boulevards. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to learn more about Kraków’s history, traditions, and its significance as one of Poland’s most important cultural centres.
During their walk through the city, the participants also visited the historic district of Kazimierz, discovering its unique atmosphere and character. The tour was accompanied by stories about Kraków’s legends and fascinating historical facts related to the landmarks they visited, allowing the volunteers to gain an even better understanding of the history of Poland’s former capital. As part of the trip, they also visited the WSB University Branch Campus in Kraków, where they learned more about the university and its activities in the region. There was also time to experience Polish cuisine by trying the traditional zapiekanka, one of the country’s most popular street foods.
The trip was a valuable intercultural experience, giving the volunteers the opportunity to gain a better understanding of Poland, its history, and its culture.
